Why visit?
One of the most striking palace façades seen from the Bosphorus; you also pass it on the shore road to Ortaköy.
Short History
Sultan Abdülaziz completed the present palace in 1871; it is a work of the Balyan family. It burned down completely in a fire on 19 January 1910; after restoration it opened as a hotel on 15 January 1991.
About
Çırağan Palace faces the water with its long marble façade on the European shore of the Bosphorus. Because the building is used as a hotel today, it is not visited like a museum; it is best seen from the Bosphorus, from a ferry or a boat.
